8 Pedestrians Struck, Injured by Vehicle Near Navy Pier

Eight pedestrians were hit by a vehicle near Navy Pier on Saturday afternoon, police said.

Officials said a taxi collided with a vehicle around 4:30 p.m. in the 600 block of East Illinois Street, which resulted in the taxi swerving onto the sidewalk.

According to the Chicago Fire Department, crews responded around 5 p.m. and eight victims were transported to Illinois Masonic Medical Center and Northwestern Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Police released a statement around 6 p.m. Saturday saying all victims were in good condition.

No further information was immediately known.
