The future of fashion, local authors read their work, a bawdy burlesque show

FUTURE OF FASHION: The Chicago Fashion Foundation hosts its second annual Scholarship Benefit at Macy's State Street store tonight. Five local design students will present their work to a panel of judges from Chicago's fashion community in a runway show. The theme is "Fashion in the White City: A Tribute to Chicago's World's Fair." Guests will enjoy cocktails, appetizers, a DJ and a silent auction. 6-8PM, $25-$35.

A-LIST: Hear experimental works, poetry, fiction, essays and more by Chicago writers and artists at the "Series A" monthly event at the Hyde Park Art Center, which is curated by local poet William Allegrezza. This week features local authors Jonathan Messinger and Joshua Adams. 7-8PM, free.

EASY COME, EASY GO: Wicker Park's Debonair Social Club is transformed into the "No Tell Motel" weekly for bawdy burlesque acts and intimate live musical performances. Tonight's star attractions are burlesque performers Red Hot Annie and The Pain-Kurst Girls at 10PM and Red Hot Annie, Angela Eve and The Pain-Kurst Girls at 11:30PM. A champagne reception takes place from 9-10PM; RSVP required at info@debonairsocialclub.com. No cover.
