Training the Next Tiger Woods

Introduce your kids to the game of golf at Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton

Believe it or not, it's time for golf. Take advantage of Saturday's projected temps in the 60s and take your kids to Arrowhead Golf Club in west suburban Wheaton. Whether they're Tiger cubs in the making or just like to run around outside, you can enjoy a day on the golf course.

This Saturday, April 18 is Arrowhead's "Family Fun Day of Golf," which includes free clinics and demos, along with an adult/junior scramble. And, all junior golfers will even receive a goodie bag. The day kicks off at 10AM with an Irons-Full Swing clinic and continues from 11AM until 2PM with an Irons Demo. From 2-3PM, long driving champion Marty "Longball" Joyce and junior world long-drive champion and record holder Lisa "Launch It" Joyce will host a trick show and long-drive exhibition, which is sure to keep the kiddies interested.

The adult/junior fun day scramble (one adult and one junior golfer between the ages of 8-15) will get underway at 3PM with rules and lunch and golfing at 4PM. The cost is $75 per two-person team, which includes nine holes of golf, a cart and lunch for both (hot dog, chips, a cookie and a soft drink). Guests can sign up in Arrowhead's Golf Shop or by calling 630-653-5800.
