Take Your Turn on Stage, Twinkle Toes

Chicago Cultural Center Hosts Dance-Along Nutcracker

You've seen the beloved ballet performed every year since you were a mere tot. Now's your chance to dance your favorite role in the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs' seventh-annual "Dance-Along Nutcracker" on Sunday, Dec. 7.

You'll be joined by toy soldiers and sugar plum fairies of all shapes, sizes and ages, all dressed in tutus, tiaras and ballet slippers for their prima ballerina moment on stage. And, don't fret -- there are pre-performance workshops at 11AM and 2PM on basic dance steps and warm-up routines from professional dancers from the Art Reaching Children of Chicago Ballet. We wouldn't want the Mouse King pulling a hammy.

Musical accompaniment is provided by the Lakeside Pride Band for the free performances, which take place in the Chicago Cultural Center's Preston Bradley Hall at noon and 3PM.
