Sure, all of the wild excitement is going to be happening in Grant Park on Election Night for Barack Obama's big rally. But if you weren't lucky enough to get a ticket, or if the idea of battling the crowds makes you shake in your boots just a bit, there's another way to commemorate the evening in a festive way.
Broadway in Chicago is celebrating the election of the 44th president by offering the opportunity to purchase any seat within three theaters on election night for – you guessed it -- $44. By using the code VOTE in the special promo section on the online ticketing page, you can find the best remaining seats for only $44. The shows are 'Dirty Dancing' at Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. Randolph St.), 'Jersey Boys' at the Bank of America Theatre (18 W. Monroe St.) and 'Wicked' at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre (24 W. Randolph St.). All three shows begin at 7:30 p.m., and theater goers will be able to hear election returns both during intermission at and the end of the performance.
But if you hear the deafening roar of applause and joy coming from Grant Park first, you'll know what happened.
