Savard leads NHL's Three Stars

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Boston Bruins forward Marc Savard was named the NHL's First Star for the week ending November 23 and Vancouver's Henrik Sedin and Chicago's Nikolai Khabibulin joined him on the 'Three Stars' list

Savard led all NHL scorers this past week with eight points on two goals and six assists and helped the Bruins to a 4-0 record. The veteran centerman's best performance came Wednesday with a goal and three assists in a 7-4 victory over Buffalo.

Savard has 27 points (8 goals, 19 assists) on the year and is behind only Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin (31 points) for the NHL's scoring lead.

The Second Star was Sedin, who tallied seven points -- all assists -- in four contests for the Canucks. Sedin recorded a point in each of Vancouver's four games last week as his club went 3-0-1 on a road trip.

The Swedish forward leads the Canucks with 21 points (3g, 18a) this season.

Khabibulin rounds out this week's list after posting a 3-0-0 record with a 2.90 goals-against average and .918 save percentage. The Russian backstop yielded nine goals over the three contests and improved to 7-1-4 on the season.
