You can't throw a stick without hitting an Italian restaurant in Chicago, but that doesn't mean there aren't some eateries pushing the envelope when it comes to unique .
Piccolo Sogno -- which translates to "Little Dream -- is a River North restaurant that offers seasonal regional Italian cuisine without the fuss.
"I didn't want to focus on just one part of Italy because I think in Italy there's a lot of great food throughout the country," chef and partner Tony Priolo says.
The emphasis is on offering simple and fresh ingredients with a robust menu of salad, antipasta, pasta, panini, pizza and main courses that include gems such as pancetta wrapped quail and grilled seafood dishes.
