A McLean County Sheriff's Department investigator said it appears the father of two young central Illinois boys found dead Sunday hanged or strangled himself.
Lt. Jeff Elston said Michael Connolly had a rope around his neck when he was found in rural Putnam County on Sunday. Connolly was near a car containing his sons' bodies. Authorities believe he killed the boys.
