Recovering from flu-like symptoms, Yoko Ono returned home Saturday after an overnight stay in a Manhattan hospital.

Sean Ono Lennon announced at about 5 p.m. in a social media post that his mother was home at her Upper West Side apartment "and running about as usual."

"I may go get a flu shot now," he added.

Ono, who turned 83 last week, went to the hospital on the advice of her doctor, said her spokesman Elliott Mintz. Early media reports that she had had a stroke were not true, he said.

Ono is the widow of John Lennon of the Beatles. A Fire Department spokesman said an ambulance was called to Ono's apartment building at 72nd Street and Central Park West in Manhattan around 9 p.m. Friday.

Sean Ono Lennon said in a tweet that he thanked the public for their concern.

Ono has lived in the luxury apartment building on Manhattan's Upper West Side since 1973. John Lennon was shot and killed in front of the building on Dec. 8, 1980.
