Voter's Edge: Who's on the Ballot and How to Find Your Polling Place

Voter's Edge: See What Your Ballot Will Look Like

NBC 5's Mary Ann Ahern shows you how to find out what your ballot will look like and where you can cast your vote. (Published Monday, Nov. 7, 2016)

Elections can be overwhelming, but they don’t have to be.

Voter’s Edge is a handy election tool that helps voters figure out where their polling place is, what the hours are and who will appear on the ballot. It also offers you information on voters' rights, how to contact the election office, how to register to vote and important dates and deadlines.

On the NBC 5 Chicago app or website, scroll down on the homepage and find the green Voter's Edge icon and click on it. All you have to do is enter your zip code and address to see who's running for office and where you need to go to vote. Users can also make a list of candidates they want to vote for and then take it to the polls so they're prepared to make their important decisions.

Not familiar with some—or all—of the candidates? NBC Chicago’s Ward Room blog has an election cheat sheet, and Election Day guide, a roundup of endorsements and will be updating live as results come in all day Tuesday.

Live Election Day coverage will begin on NBC 5 at 6 p.m. and continue until the results are in.
