South Side Parade Meeting Canceled: Sources

City Hall has cancelled the so-called make-or-break meeting for the South Side Irish Parade that was scheduled for Tuesday.

Officials were set to discuss plans to re-animate the defunct parade but with a  zero tolerance alcohol policy.

Organizers were notified late Monday about the cancelation. The city says the meeting will be re-scheduled for Friday, at a time to be determined later.

Organizers said they don’t know what to think and are hopeful all of the questions the city has will be worked out.

At the same time, those trying to bring back the South Side Irish Parade after a two year hiatus are concerned the city may be setting the bar too high for them to bring back the 30 year tradition.
