Will he? Won't he? Does anyone care?
Former White House chief of staff Bill Daley says he'll decide in the next two months if he will run for Illinois governor.
The Democrat from Chicago spoke at a business luncheon Wednesday in the Chicago suburb of McHenry. He told The Northwest Herald the same thing he's been saying for months: that he's "seriously looking" at running. This time, however, he applied a deadline and said he'd make a decision in 60 days.
If Daley does run, it would be a major Democratic primary challenge to Gov. Pat Quinn. If Daley and Attorney General Lisa Madigan runs it'll be a nepotism hootenanny.
Daley says if he runs he will "have to lay out some specifics."
During his speech to McHenry County business owners he called Illinois a "fiscal mess" and said state government is "dysfunctional."
Daley is the brother and son of past Chicago mayors. He is former chief of staff for President Barack Obama.
