The Chicago Blackhawks scored a comeback win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night, and rookie winger Alex DeBrincat was the straw that stirred the drink in the stellar effort.

DeBrincat, who has been bounced around the lineup in an effort to get his game going, came out firing early and often in this one, and he scored the team’s first goal early in the second period:

After the Blackhawks went down 3-1 in the game, DeBrincat went back to work early in the third period, scoring his fifth goal of the season on a tremendous shot from the slot to cut the Hurricanes’ lead to one:

Gustav Forsling tied the game in the third period, but in the overtime, DeBrincat once again stole the show, as he executed a flawless drop pass to set up Brandon Saad for the game-winning tally against former Blackhawks goaltender Scott Darling:

The Blackhawks’ offense hasn’t been firing at all recently, so to see DeBrincat get things going was a sight for sore eyes for fans. The team will hope to keep the good times rolling on Sunday night when they take on the New Jersey Devils at the United Center.
