$600 In Girl Scout Cookies Stolen

Police don't even have a trail of crumbs as they search for over $600 worth of Girl Scout Cookies stolen from a southwestern Indiana community center.

Town Marshal Bill Sam Phegley says Girl Scout leaders arriving at the Carlisle Community Center on Saturday found the back door unlocked and 204 boxes of cookies missing.

Phegley says the theft occurred sometime between Thursday and Saturday morning in the community about 35 miles south of Terre Haute.

He says there was no sign of a break in, and with cars frequently using the alley behind the community center, he can't identify any suspects.

Girl Scout officials have agreed to replace the $612 worth of stolen cookies at no charge.
