Bears Nab 1st Preseason Win in Surreal Game vs. Colts

The game became secondary as news of Andrew Luck's reported retirement filtered around Lucas Oil Stadium

The Chicago Bears beat the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday night, but the result of the game was far from the minds of Colts fans after a stunning news story broke.

The win was the first of the Bears' preseason, but it was overshadowed by the reported retirement of Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. The news slowly filtered through Lucas Oil Stadium during the second half of the game, and after the contest ended fans were heard booing the quarterback as he walked off the field.

In terms of game action, Tyler Bray had a solid evening, throwing for 136 yards and a touchdown in 16 passing attempts. He played the second half after Chase Daniel went 3-for-9 for 21 yards in the first half.

Ryan Nall broke a 69-yard run during the game and ended up with 73 rushing yards for the contest. Josh Caldwell had 11 carries for the Bears, but only managed 17 yards on the ground.

Deon Bush returned an interception 91 yards for a touchdown in the game, and Doyin Jibowu also had an interception in the victory.

Eddy Pineiro nailed two field goals and all three extra points he attempted in the game. One of his field goals perfectly split the uprights from 58 yards out as he played his first game after Elliott Fry was waived by the team.

Playing in place of Jacoby Brissett, Chad Kelly threw for 209 yards and a touchdown
