Spencer and Heidi Pratt, the notoriously spoiled and self-absorbed newlywed couple from The Hills, may consider themselves reality "stars" in Los Angeles, but they got a reality check here in Chicago.
According to 312DD, the infamous duo showed up at Alinea (1723 N Halsted St), a Lincoln Park establishment that has been named the best restaurant in America by Gourmet magazine in 2006. Chef and owner Grant Achatz is famous for his experimental and inventive dishes.
But it appears Spencer and Heidi—often known as "Speidi"—aren't as famous as they'd like to think they are.
The Pratts reportedly showed up at the restaurant, which often has a waiting list two months long, without making a reservation. If they assumed their reality fame would earn them an immediate table for two, they were sorely disappointed.
Allegedly, none of the working staff knew who they were.
The Hills couple was promptly turned away and told to make a reservation like everyone else.
Spencer and Heidi returned later that evening, this time with a reservation, and were seated to dinner. And while many viewers accuse the Pratts' "reality show" of being scripted, the couple was reportedly just as horrible and obnoxious as they are on TV.

Finally, according to one commenter, "they were so confused by the food that they left after only 3 courses (out of 13). Again, she didn't get the food."
Perhaps the couple's early departure shouldn't have come as such a surprise though.
Spencer and Heidi are currently starring on NBC's I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! But the newlyweds have now quit the competition show three separate times. Mind you, this season only began three days ago.
Each time they quit, they told fellow competitors (including Lou Diamond Phillips and Stephen Baldwin) that the jungle was harder to survive than they thought it would be, despite their self-admitted lack of help around camp.
Later though, in private interviews on the show, "Speidi" would say they were "real" celebrities who were too good for the series.
"I'm a celebrity! Get me out of here!" yelled Spencer from the car that carried the couple away. "I don't volunteer, I get paid!"
Since then though, the couple has returned, asking for forgiveness and blaming the devil for their early exit.
Is the devil also to blame for their retreat from dinner?
