We all want to be sitting on a beach in Bora Bora instead of a fluorescent-lit cubicle, but traveling halfway around the world isn’t always an option.
Make it easier by channeling the islands and other destinations across the globe with a new series of spa treatments offered by the Elysian Spa and Health Club. The cushy spa is now offering a series of culturally-inspired treatments from around the world that will take guests on a global spa journey through the Pacific Islands, Thailand, India and back home to Chicago throughout the course of a year.
Beginning now and through March, experience the Pacific Islands by indulging in a treatment infused with organic tropical fruits and aloe vera extract. The massage techniques of the islands -- like the Lomi Lomi massage -- utilizes techniques of Polynesian culture not practiced in traditional massages in Chicago. Also up for grabs in January is the Tahitian Fruit Wrap and a nourishing facial with pineapple scrub and exfoliating coconut hand and foot treatment.
When spring rolls around, the journey continues with a visit to Thailand via Thai massages, lemongrass body exfoliations and bamboo facials. Then, it’s off to India from July through September with a menu of Ayurvedic-inspired treatments designed to restore balance and harmony.
Last but certainly not least, spa guests will experience an urban-inspired menu as they “return home to Chicago.” These treatments -- known to help eleviate jet lag and detoxify the body -- include a detox wrap and urban foot rescue.
No matter if you try all the travel-themed spa treatments or just one, it’s certainly a hassle-free escape -- unlike spending days on an airplane. Kudos to that.
