SketchFest Kicks Off

Festival offers 150 shows over two weekends

Are you ready for some skits? The ninth annual Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, better known as SketchFest, kicked off Thursday and runs through January 17.

More than 100 sketch comedy groups will perform 150 shows over two weekends at the festival, hosted at Theatre Building Chicago (1225 W. Belmont Ave.)

Multiple simultaneous performances will be held Thursday through Sunday and include children's programming and workshops in addition to the comedy sketches.

Tickets are $12.50 for each performance slot or $150 for an all-inclusive pass. More than 10,000 people attended last year, so organizers are encouraging patrons to buy tickets beforehand.
