King James is taking his throne to South Beach.
LeBron James announced on national television in his primetime ESPN special "The Decision" Thursday that he will join the Miami Heat. He becomes the third free agent to agree to sign with the team following Chicago native Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
The news broke Cavaliers fans hearts. Some set fire to his jerseys. Others posted profanity-laced rants on YouTube.
What do you think about James jumping ship with the hopes of winning a NBA championship next year?
"The right decision. Cavaliers' fans are inappropriately over-reacting." - Wilfred
"It stinks!!!" - Heather
"Didn't I say he was going for the money!! That's all these sports figures care about...show me the money!!!" - Kim
"Free Agency has ruined sports. What ever happened to playing for the love of the game. Now, everyone is so money hungry." - Ron
"LeBron who?? jk" - Sonya
"That was a done deal long before last night. All LeBron wanted was to inflate his ego a little more. He is quite humble, you know. Those 3 players turned the tables on the owners creating their own Dream Team." - Bob
"LeBron is still a young kid - if he doesn't stay focused on the game & the team, the distractions of Miami will stop any dream of any championship." - LaCharles
"He's a human being! I will crack up when he hurts himself & is out for 6-12 weeks! Haha! The $$$ has yes, ruined sports. Who these days plays for love of a game?" - Tracy
"I'm just glad he didn't pick Chicago. We don't need a prima donna with a big ego!" - Karin
"To be the best, you have to beat the best. He joined the best. I think he has tarnished whatever legacy he has to yet create." - Angie
