Chicago Bulls Officially Announce D-League Team

The Chicago Bulls made a big announcement on Wednesday as they officially revealed that they will be bringing an NBA Development League team to the Chicagoland area.

The team, which has not been named yet, will begin play in the 2016-17 season at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, and will feature players that the Bulls hope will one day become part of their NBA roster.

“We think this is a terrific step for our franchise from a basketball perspective,” Bulls G.M. Gar Forman said of the decision to establish a D-League team.

The team has not been named yet, but the Bulls are currently soliciting ideas from fans of the team. Contest rules stipulate that fans must live within 75 miles of Chicago to submit a name idea, and all names must include the word “Bulls” at the end.

Earlier this week, the village board in Hoffman Estates unanimously approved the Bulls’ proposal to place a team at the Sears Centre.
