Rev. Marshall E. Hatch Sr. of New Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church is jumping into the political fray, attempting to assume Danny K. Davis Congressional seat for the 7th District.

Hatch earned a political science degree from Western Illinois University before heading to Georgetown for a master's degree in government. But instead of pursuing a career in politics he turned to the ministry and worked around the West Side of Chicago as a pastor and a non-profit administrator.

Hatch helped organize The Leaders’ Network, a faith based advocacy and disaster relief organization of young leaders in Chicago.
