A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in suburban Glenview on Friday evening, the Cook County Medical Examiner said.
According to Glenview police, a vehicle traveling northbound on Sanders Road at approximately 4:18 p.m. struck a 43-year-old woman, who was behind a stopped vehicle in the roadway.
The woman, a Northbrook resident, was taken to Lutheran General Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
According to authorities, the cause of the crash is still under investigation, and the identity of the woman has not been released pending notification of family.
