Reward Offered for Information in Tinley Park Home Invasion

After a home invasion that saw a family held at gunpoint in Tinley Park over the weekend, police are offering a reward for information leading to the capture of those responsible.

On Thursday, the Illinois State Crime Commission offered a $2000 reward for information leading to the capture and conviction of the people who held a Tinley Park family at gunpoint during a home invasion.

“I commend Mayor Jacob Vandenberg for his proactive stance in protecting his community,” Jerry Elsner, director of the commission, said in a statement.

Three people were transported to area hospitals after the incident, which occurred late Saturday night in the 8000 block of Potawatomi Trail. According to police, three individuals entered the home through an open garage door, and upon entry they held the family and guests at gunpoint.

Before they left the house, the alleged thieves stole cellphones, electronics, and cash, and they locked the residents inside the basement before fleeing the scene.
