A South Suburban basketball coach accused of sexually assaulting one of his male students was released Thursday after posting bail.

Matt Ryndak, 30, of Dyer, Ind., turned himself into police a day earlier after an arrest warrant was issued.

The Crete Monee High School coach and basketball teacher is charged with eight counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony that carries a sentence of up to seven years on conviction.

He's accused of fondling a teenage boy multiple times in 2010. Ryndak is currently on paid leave from the school.  He was named the Southtown Star's Boys Basketball Coach of the Year in 2011, after leading the Warriers to a 25-4 season.
