Trains from Chicago to Washington and New York have been canceled

With a powerful winter storm expected to hammer the Midwest and the Eastern Seaboard this weekend, Amtrak has announced modified service schedules for several of its train lines.

In an email release Thursday, the train service announced that its Capitol Limited line, which runs from Chicago to Washington D.C., and its Lake Shore Limited line, which runs from Chicago to New York City, will be canceled on Sat., Jan. 19.

Trains 29 and 30 on the Capitol Limited line, and trains 49, 449, 48, and 448 on the Lake Shore Limited were all canceled as a result of the inclement weather.
