Expect mostly cloudy skies mixed with showers and thunderstorms for Saturday night, according to NBC 5 Meteorologist Pete Sack. Temperatures will drop to 60 degrees, said Sack.
Keep the umbrella handy Chicago, because it's going to be a soggy weekend.
The showers and scattered thunderstorms making their way through the Midwest Saturday are expected to last overnight and into Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service said thunderstorms moving through the area after 12 p.m. on Saturday could turn severe, bringing heavy rain and "damaging wind gusts."
Some of the thunderstorms could produce hail, according to NBC 5 Meteorologist Pete Sack.
"The most likely area to see severe thunderstorms will be along and west of the I-39 corridor," the weather service stated in their hazardous outlook report.
By Saturday evening, chances of thunderstorms increase and wind gusts could reach as high as 25 miles per hour, the service said.
