A 16-year-old girl who said she was sexually assaulted in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood Monday night has recanted her story, according to police.
Police did not say why the teen changed her story.
She initially claimed that two Hispanic men pulled her into an alley in the 2300 block of West Cermak Road around 5 p.m. and sexually assaulted her.
News of the assault had area residents on alert, including Raquel Cardenas, who said she planned to carry Mace with her.
