South Shore Service Restored Between Chicago, NW Indiana

All South Shore train service between Chicago and northwest Indiana was restored Thursday morning after it was suspended in the wake of the blizzard that hit the area Wednesday.

Service had been suspended because of Northern Indiana Public Service Company-related damage caused by the blizzard, according to a statement on the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District website.

Metra said it would honor South Shore tickets on the Metra Electric District line for riders affected by the service outage, NICTD said. For further updates, check www.nictd.com.
