Now, here's a televison show that delivers on its promise.
A convicted murderer who escaped from an Indiana prison has been captured in Chicago after her story was featured on "America's Most Wanted," authorities said Sunday.
Police captured Sarah Jo Pender, 29, on Saturday after getting an anonymous tip, the Chicago Police Department said in a statement. She was being held Sunday at the Cook County Jail.
Pender escaped from the Rockville Correctional Center in August. She was convicted along with former Noblesville High School football star Richard "Rick" Hull Jr. in the 2000 slayings of two former roommates.
Pender was sentenced to 110 years in prison and Hull was sentenced to 75 years.
She escaped from the medium-security prison 50 miles west of Indianapolis on Aug. 4, allegedly with the aid of Scott Spitler Sr., who was then a guard at the prison, and an Indianapolis woman named Jamie Long.
Spitler hid Pender in a state prison vehicle and drove her out of prison grounds, then Long picked Pender up in her car, authorities said.
Authorities arrested Spitler Aug. 6 and apprehended Long, 42, at her home the following day. Both were charged with aiding an escapee.
Pender was featured on "America's Most Wanted" on Saturday as one of the television show's "Top 10 Fugitives."
