The original location of the Billy Goat Tavern is not going anywhere.
The Chicago Tribune reports that the National Association of Realtors is abandoning plans to replace its 430 N. Michigan Avenue headquarters with another project, which would have affected the legendary tavern below.
The newspaper reports that the company was concerned about the "proposed legal structure of the redevelopment."
Officials had planned to incorporate a redesigned Billy Goat Tavern into the new project, but it would have been temporarily displaced.
The restaurant has been around since 1964 and was immortalized in Saturday Night Live skits in the 1980s.
