McMozzarella Sticks? Appetizers Coming to Wisconsin McDonald's

The fast food giant is rolling out the "Lovin' Value Menu" to 125 Wisconsin stores

Have you ever perused a fast food menu and wished there were a selection of appetizers to complement your order? If so, McDonald’s newest initiative is for you.

The company will now offer a range of small side plates in what they are dubbing the “Lovin’ Value Menu,” Consumerist reported, with the state of Wisconsin selected as the first test market.

The items will run as low as $1 each, and with Wisconsin Cheeseheads in mind, include new untraditional items like mozzarella sticks and marina sauce.

All of the items on the Lovin’ Value Menu will be smaller items targeted to the modern day snacker. It is expected to also include "mini meals" of more traditional items like burgers, chicken sandwiches and nugget portions meant for sharing.

Fortune reports franchisees in the area are excited about being selected for the rollout, as they believe eaters these days are looking for innovative ways to create and customize the right-sized meal for them.

This is not the first time McDonald’s has tried the mozzarella sticks. The fast food giant tested them on the East Coast about a year ago, according to Time.

Some posted photos of the surprising find on Twitter:

If the mozzarella sticks and new mini meals do well in the 125 Wisconsin stores, they could be a permanent fixture on menus nationwide.

Until then it's safe to say if any state is worthy of rating the cheesy dish, it's Wisconsin, so we should be in good hands.
