Lynwood police are investigating the shooting death of a man found in his home Monday morning after police received a call about an alleged kidnapping involving the man's wife.

The Lynwood Police Department received a call from the Cook County Sheriff's police at 3 a.m. Monday, saying a female had been kidnapped, according to a release from police.

Police went to check on a man who was still in the home on the 19800 block of Orchard Avenue, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, after the woman told police she was concerned about her husband.

When officers arrived at the home, they found the man dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

There are no additional details about the kidnapping or the man's death, and it is unknown whether anyone has been arrested.
