A 33-year-old man was expected in Bond Court Saturday, a day after Chicago police officers discovered him on a West Side CTA 'L'  platform with a loaded handgun, handcuffs and a bogus security officer badge.

Two Chicago Police Officers, in civilian dress, who were working special employment for the CTA, assigned to the Green Line in an exclusive "Joint Gang Impact" mission area, were on the platform at Central Avenue and Lake Street Friday when they spotted a man wearing an inverted type holster with a revolver protruding from the holster.

The officers conducted a field interview of the man and requested that he produce identification that would allow him to be lawfully armed, a release from police News Affairs said. The man produced a generic type security badge and an ID that was soon after discovered to be bogus in connection with a false business name and invalid phone number, the release said.

The man, Brian King, of the 7900 block of South Colfax Avenue, was immediately taken into custody and charged Friday with one felony count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, having a firearm without valid FOID and no registration of a firearm.

Police confiscated King's .357 Magnum revolver, which was loaded with six live rounds, along with his belt, holster, generic security star, handcuffs and handcuff key, the release said.

King is expected to appear in Bond Court sometime Saturday, according to police.
