A trio of brazen jewel thieves hit up a Magnificent Mile jewelry store, Monday morning.

The thieves smashed the glass door of the Omega jewelry store at 909 N. Michigan Ave. and grabbed jewels and gems before fleeing in a silver-colored car, Police News Affairs said. Nobody was hurt.

Police were called to the scene at 7:20 a.m.

It's unclear at this time exactly what the thieves managed to steal, police said.

David Lampert, of nearby Lester Lampert Jewelry, said his store was hit five years ago.

"It's unfortunately sometimes part of doing business," Lampert said.
