Indiana Woman's Act of Kindness Goes Viral

Kelly McGuire, of Hobart, Indiana, went to the final home Bears home game last week. Since then, her story of what happened after has been shared thousands of times

Last week, Kelly McGuire of Hobart, Indiana, went to the final home game for the Chicago Bears dressed as any smart fan would. With a high of 30 degrees, she wore an impressive six layers of shirts under her coat with three pairs of both pants and socks.

She went to Giordano's for a post-game dinner, where she took off her outer layers and put them all in a bag. As she was heading back to the train station to go home, she encountered a woman named Amy who was homeless and in need of winter clothing.

McGuire felt it was "providential timing," and gave Amy the clothes she was carrying, along with the winter boots right off her feet.

She shared her story on Facebook with a photo of the old boots Amy gave her (so her feet wouldn't be cold) and the Internet responded with an outpouring of support.

Just one week later, McGuire's post has been shared over 12,000 times.

"I had no idea this post was going to go so viral," she said in an edit to the original post. "Please remember that I want this to be about Amy's sweet gesture, not my own."

"Can you imagine if that many people did even just one random act of kindness for someone?" she added. "We need to truly be the change we wish to see in the world."
