Several schools will be closed in Fox Lake and in surrounding school districts Wednesday as the manhunt continues for three armed and dangerous men who are believed to be responsible for killing a veteran officer Tuesday morning.
Grant Community High School, Fox Lake, Gavin, Big Hollow, and Saint Bede Catholic School are all closed as police continue their search for the suspects in the fatal shooting of Lieutenant Charles "Joe" Gliniewicz.
School officials said in a statement that after communicating with law enforcement, “we have all decided that it is in the best interests of our students, the community, and law enforcement, to cancel school for tomorrow, Wednesday, September 2, 2015.”
Meanwhile, residents in and around Fox Lake were asked to stay indoors as hundreds of officers continued to search for the suspects.
