A south suburban woman who won $6.25 million in the Illinois Lottery plans to have the wedding of her dreams in the Bahamas.

Janeel Carson, 34, bought the winning Quick Pick ticket for the March 5 Lotto drawing at the BP station at 17002 Torrence Ave. in Lansing, according to the Illinois Lottery.

Carson has worked for the U.S. Postal Service for eight years and plans to use the windfall to get married in the Bahamas, buy a new house and a car, according to the statement.

“My fiancé and I have always wanted all of our friends and extended family to be a part of our special day — and now they can be!” she said in the statement.

The gas station received a $62,500 bonus, one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
