Prepare for a biting start to the day.

Another wind chill advisory is in effect this morning through 10 a.m., and for good reason. This is the coldest morning of the season so far.

Temperatures hovered around 2 degrees this morning in Chicago and -17 in Aurora, with wind chills forcing temps as low as -25 in the south suburbs.

Don't let the sunny skies and light winds fool you out of bundling up on your way to work. The frigid cold is bitingly harsh. The National Weather Service reminds people to bring their pets out of the cold.

In Chicago, landlords must keep building temperatures at least 68 degrees during the day and 66 degrees at night. Call 311 if your apartment is below those temperatures.

By this afternoon, temperatures begin a slow rise above zero, and as early as Friday afternoon, Chicago could see 20-degree weather.

Here's something else to get you through the morning: Forecasts predict mid- to upper 30s Saturday through Monday.
