Woman Tries Robbing 2 Banks in 2 Hours: Cops

Woman wanted for attempting two robberies in Montclare and Little Village

The Chicago FBI is searching for a bank robber who tried to hit two banks just two hours apart.

FBI officials say the woman's first attempt failed on Chicago's Northwest Side Thursday afternoon. She left empty handed when she tried to rob a Fifth Third Bank in the Montclare neighborhood.

Two hours later, police say she held up a Charter One Bank on West Cermak Road in Little Village.

Federal authorities are looking for a 5-foot-3 Hispanic woman in her early 20s. She was seen on surveillance tape wearing a fur-trimmed winter jacket, a hat and large glasses.

Authorities are offering a reward leading to her arrest. Anyone with tips should contact the FBI at 321-421-6700.
