Police are looking for the man who robbed an Aldi store Monday afternoon in west suburban Lisle.

The man walked into the store at 5525 Route 53 around 2:35 p.m. and tried taking cash from an open cash drawer, police said. When the cashier tried closing the drawer, police said the man displayed a large framed handgun and removed the cash.

Police said the man left the store and fled eastbound on Maple Avenue in a silver or grey, four-door sedan.

The armed robber is described as a white man, 20 to 30 years old, standing about 5-feet-8 and weighing about 160 pounds. He wore a black jacket, blue jeans and a black, possibly Hurly brand baseball cap.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Lisle Police Department at 630- 271-4200 and request to be transferred to an officer.
