Police warned Chicago residents Monday to be on the look out for CTA crime, specifically on the Green Line.
Reports of approximately 24 recent CTA Green Line robberies have poured into the Chicago Police Department since November 2nd. The attacks are widespread, making it difficult for police to pinpoint a particular location.
The crimes follow a similar pattern, however.
Offenders are known to approach victims while they are riding, exiting or walking home from the Green Line. Some victims are even approached while they are standing or waiting for the bus at a bus stop.
The culprits then punch the victim or shows a handgun and demand their personal property. Most of those that are preyed upon have had wallets, money, purses, jewelry, computers and cell-phones stolen.
Incidents have from one to four male black offenders. Their descriptions vary from person to person.

Police are asking the community to make residents in your area aware of these incidents. Also, report suspicious people loitering near the CTA Green Line or CTA Bus Stops, be alert and aware of your surroundings, and try to travel in groups.
