Teenagers, we understand that right now, at this point in your lives, every exposed pimple and every feud with your parents may seem like a life-or-death situation. But seriously, don't call 911 just because you've been grounded.

On Sunday, a northwest suburban teenager called the cops when his parents took away his Xbox.

At about 1 p.m., the 15-year-old called Buffalo Grove police via 911, but he hung up without saying anything. The authorities traced the call and decided to follow up.

Officers were sent to the house where the call originated. The boy admitted to calling, saying he wanted to know if his parents had the legal right to take away his gaming system.

"Officers arrived and found out it was a domestic situation," police Cmdr. Steve Husak told the Sun-Times. "The young man was upset and asked if it was legal for his parents to take his stuff away. The officers told him it was and that he should listen to his parents next time."

Police filed a report, but the teen will not be facing any legal consequences.

However, it's very likely he won't be playing with his Xbox any time soon.

Matt Bartosik, a Chicago native and a social media sovereign, is horrible at video games.
