I am not a meteorologist, or any kind of expert about weather. But I grew up in the Chicago suburbs, and lived in Niles, Illinois. My birthday is October 3, 1951,

which makes me more aware of conditions on October 3 than most dates. I distincly remember having snow on the ground on my birthday. I admit I don't remember

which year, but it would probably be in the 1954 - 1959 range. I lived on Prospect Avenue in Niles, and walked to Thomas Jefferson Elementry school. They would

push the snow inside the chain link fenced recreation area, and we would walk along the snow top that created. Even a small snow falling would creat a 12" ledge to

walk on. I remember that ledge being as high as 3 feet and when you are 3 feet tall it seems massive.

I live in Texas now, I am a consultant to the Oil & Gas industry. I wish I lived in Chicago, and I buy lottery tickets, knowing I will never win, but If I did hit the lottery

for a lot of money, the first thing I would do is check into a hotel in Chicago, and go house hunting. I am still a Cubs & White Sox fan (I know most people are

either/or) but I love em both, and loved to go to a real major league ballpark and watch them play. (I would count Nellie Fox's foul balls) The Chicago Bears football is

still the best, especially playing Green Bay. I remember standing around pot belly stoves in Green Bay's stadium trying to get warm, and seeing "the man."

Global warming - First, pick up a book and read. Your brain is a muscle and obviously most of yours have atrophied (use a dictionary). It's going to snow in Chicago because of the weather, which is controlled by the tides and currents(those are in the ocean). The ocean is warming up faster than it has EVER. In fact it's warmer than it's been in 130 years. Now who doesn't think it's cute to see polar bears floating on ice cubes!? I know I do! unfortunately all that fresh water that's melting is going into the oceans and affecting the currents(that's called desalinization). This will affect thermohaline circulation which in turn affects ....anyone? the ocean currents! which in turn affects....anyone? THE WEATHER! Very good.

Go stand up on a hill and look down on any industrialized city. That thick brown streak across the sky, that ain't good. I know the radio hosts and tv personas don't emphasize this. You would actually have to read...a lot. If you've made it this far already you might have a shot at developing enough of a brain to hold a legitimate conversation on this issue...as opposed to just bashing Al Gore. I mean seriously!
