Gravestones Vandalized in Chicago Suburb

Some gravestones were pushed off their foundations, and others were broken, police said.

Police in a far Northwest suburb are trying to find out who vandalized dozens of headstones in two cemeteries on Halloween night.

About 50 to 60 gravestones were knocked over and some broken in the Woodland and St. Mary's cemeteries in that suburb, police tell the Chicago Tribune.  According to published reports, some of the headstones date back to the 1800s.

McHenry police tell the Chicago Tribune nobody is in custody yet, but the investigation continues.
