Roseanne Barr to Get Lifetime Reality Show

Roseanne as a nut farmer? Believe it.

She was once TV's most famous sit-com mom but now Rosanne Bar is making her return to the airwaves in a show that will drop her right into the middle of a situation far more nutty than anything she ever dealt with as part of the working-class Connor family.

The outlandish comedian will star in new reality show on Lifetime that places her in charge of a macadamia and livestock farm in Hawaii, reports Entertainment Weekly.

In a statement about the yet-to-be-named show, Barr says, "I'm coming back down to earth and keeping it real. They've said 'Rosanne's nuts' for years and now I'm going to make that a reality -- I'm all about nuts now, macadamia nuts!"

Lifetime President and GM Nancy Dubuc called Barr an "undeniable force of nature" and said that the premise of the show was extremely attractive to her viewers.

"Rosanne is funny and brutally-honest, and our audience will relate to her decision to go on this adventure and create an entirely new life for herself," she said in a statement. "We are thrilled she will make her long-awaited return to television on Lifetime."

Barr, a former Emmy winner and best-selling author, will also serve as a producer on the show, which is slated to air its 16 episodes later this year.
