It was an encounter of two oversized personalities, shock jock meets music sensation. And when Lady Gaga made her first appearance on Howard Stern’s show, neither held much back.

She copped to past use of Ecstasy and cocaine, saying she was drawn to the latter because she was lonely, EW.com reported.

“There was something about the drug that made me feel I had a friend,” the 25-year-old chart-topping pop superstar said, according to an EW transcript. “I did it all alone in my apartment, while I wrote music. And I regret every line I ever did. So to any of the little sweethearts who are listening, don’t touch it. It’s the devil.”

The singer of hits like “Poker Face” and “Paparazzi” said on "The Howard Stern Show" Monday there was “no way” she does those drugs these days, though she allowed she sometimes uses marijuana, E! Online reported.

“Well, come on, that’s not…” she said, laughing. “I really don’t do it very often.”

Gaga said that during her brief time as a student at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts she was an annoying student “who was trying to answer every question and make the teacher look bad.”

And the New Yorker said she hasn’t moved to Los Angeles because she doesn’t like the city, which she said is “just not fun.” (Her song “Marry the Night” was about the moment when she was staying out there and saw big stars who had mansions, she pointed out.)

“I don’t know why, but I just don’t get it,” she said of L.A., EW reported. “You have to drive to get everywhere, and when it rains everybody freaks out."

The hour-and-a-half talk was the most detailed interview Gaga has ever done, according to EW. It included an acoustic performance of “The Edge of Glory,” which Stern declared “one of the best performances we’ve ever had on the show.”

As might be expected, Stern pushed her for details on her sex life. Gaga called sometime paramour Luc Carl “my best friend.”

She had a restrained message for her fans, saying she doesn’t want anyone to do drugs, E! Online said. And she urged them to “wait as long as you can to have sex, because as a woman you don't even begin to enjoy it until your mid-20s.”
