Mick Jagger has put together a new band which includes Eurythmics star Dave Stewart and Bob Marley's son Damian, according to a report.

Jagger, the Rolling Stones' lead singer and one of the greatest rock n roll frontmen of all time, has finished a record and shot a video with his band mates, who are calling themselves Super Heavy, according to the New York Post. Other members of the band are British singer-songwriter Joss Stone and Indian musician A.R. Rahman.

Jagger's brother, Chris, confirmed the effort in an interview with Portuguese website RTP.

"He's doing a record at the moment in Los Angeles with Dave Stewart, he called me last night telling me what he was doing," Chris Jagger said.

A rep for Jagger sought to slow the story down, saying the musicians "all thought it would be interesting and great fun to go into the studio and play some music," but denied that a record or video had been cut.

Jagger's Stones collaborator, Keith Richards, doesn't think much of past outside efforts by the singer. He ridiculed Sir Mick's solo albums, "She's the Boss" and "Goddess in the Doorway" in his blockbuster book, "Life."

Fans are concerned that Jagger's new band could scuttle plans for a Rolling Stones tour later this year or next.
