First, Kate Middleton was the proud recipient of Princess Diana’s sapphire and diamond engagement ring. Now, she has something else in common with the late Princess of Wales—her photos.
People reports that the happy couple has gotten their first official engagement portraits taken by none other than Mario Testino, a much-lauded fashion photographer, the selfsame that took many of Princess Diana’s most famous images.
According to People, one of Prince William’s spokespeople confirmed that Testino has indeed taken pictures, saying he shot “some engagement photographs.”
Though there’s no word currently when the photographs were taken, or when they’ll be released, People reports that the photos were taken sometime after the couple’s engagement announcement on November 16th and will be released to the public in the near future.
The Peruvian photographer has captured many people on film for magazine covers, including “Vogue” and “Vanity Fair,” as well as doing commercial work for design houses like Gucci and Tom Ford.
