The Buzz: 68-year-old senator Haine is an army veteran and licensed attorney who was sworn in to the Senate in 2002. He was previously elected to the office of Madison County State’s Attorney before taking his senatorial seat. Haine has proposed and passed legislation involving sex offenders as well as narcotics.
Haine is chair of the Insurance Committee and vice-chair of the Licensed Activities Committee, as well as a member of the Judiciary Committee, Criminal Law Committee and the Governing Committee of the Legislative Reference Bureau.
