Blagos on the Radio

Rod Blagojevich's request to cancel his retrial and receive sentencing is stalled

While he waits for a ruling, the impeached Illinois governor is making the media rounds yet again.

Blagojevich tweeted on Tuesday that he's appearing on "Geraldo At Large" on Sunday and filling in for Don and Roma on the "Don Wade and Roma Show" Wednesday in Chicago on WLS-AM.

There's no telling what Blago intends to talk about during his 5-9 a.m. stint, but according to WLS-AM president Michael Damsky, it's sure to be "must-listen radio."

"Rod Blagojevich is an undeniably Chicago character who gets people talking,” Damsky said in a news release.

Earlier this month, Blagojevich's attorneys asked a judge to skip the April 20 retrial and sentence Blagojevich right away, citing financial troubles and "hefty" trial costs. Blagojevich was convicted for lying to the FBI, one of 24 counts against him.

The former governor isn't lacking for radio experience. He guest hosted a few times on WLS and even had his own two-hour show on the station until weeks before his first trial.

Blagojevich says he has a few surprises planned for the Sunday show. Keep an eye on @governorrod on Twitter for a list of guests on the upcoming show.

“I miss talking to the people, explaining to them about really goes on and what they can do about it,” Blagojevich said.
